Inexpensive Ways to Increase Traffic to Your New Website (Part 2)

In part 1, we talked about some inexpensive strategies to drive visitors to your new website. If you’re looking for even more ways to increase your traffic, here are 4 additional tips to do so:

Buy IP Unique Traffic

This product may be a little pricier than Global Traffic, but as far as online advertising goes, our IP Unique packages are still very affordable. You can get 5,000 visitors for as low as $39, and you’ll even be able to target your site visitors.

Our IP Unique product enables you to zero in on your target users by country, channel, or keywords. By doing so, you can get more relevant visitors and increase the chances of converting them or bringing them back to your site.

Run contests

We talked about joining contests in part 1, but have you ever considered running your own? It can be a great way to put the spotlight on your new site.

A word of caution though: make sure your prize is relevant to your site, product, or service. Giving away generic prizes such as cash or iPads may get you a lot of entries and visits, but you’ll likely get irrelevant visitors who only care about the prize. What you can do instead, is offer something that’s related to your business. For example, if you’re running a site about fashion, you can give away a free style consult or free clothes. By doing so, you’ll attract the right type of audience… and who knows, you may even reel in customers at the same time.

Also note that running a contest isn’t just about putting a prize up for grabs and hoping that the entries will come pouring in. You have to do the legwork in terms of promoting the contest. Write blog posts and newsletters about it and post information on social media. If you don’t have a huge following yet, your best bet would be to partner up with relevant companies or sites so you can get help in spreading the word.

Ramp up your content

Regularly publish new content on your website and constantly promote your posts via social media. But do make sure that you’re putting really valuable content—something that people would actually want to share.

Can’t publish content on a regular basis? Hire a freelance writer to take care of your posting needs. You can also take on some guest bloggers to help fill up your editorial calendar. Be careful though. Remember that Matt Cutts of Google recently declared guest blogging for SEO as “done,” so if you’re going to publish guest posts, make sure that you’re dealing with people who are doing it to build exposure and relationships, and NOT links. If you can, make their links no-follow to avoid raising any red flags with the search giant.

Give away freebies for people’s email address

Unlike contests, giving away freebies for leads entails that you offer up free stuff for everyone who signs up. You can do this by publishing a free ebook or whitepaper and giving it away to people who subscribe to your blog or newsletter.

Aside from attracting new visitors, this strategy lets you re-engage your existing subscribers and get repeat visitors by sending regular updates and valuable content to the people who have already signed up.
