On-Page SEO

Did you know how important is on-page SEO for improving your search engine ranking and providing more visibility to your website?

Most of us tend to attach more importance to off-page SEO, but fail to realize that a balance of both on-page SEO and off-page SEO methods is needed to score high rankings for any website.

What are the main elements of a good on-page SEO?

For starters, on-page SEO comprises of proper URL structures, titles and descriptions that are optimized, text and image formatting, good quality external links, user-friendly navigation through sitemaps.

They may also include Google Authorship verification for all the pages and not to forget fresh and high quality content. On the other hand, off-page SEO relies more on link building methods, social media and social bookmarking, which is necessary for promotion of your website.

Here’s your checklist for using on-page SEO to get the best results for your website:

-Create relevant and top-quality content

Make sure that the content you create is an “original” masterpiece and not copied from elsewhere. Both search engines and users love content that is informative, well-researched and contains relevant information which is useful to them.

Try making your posts more engaging and interactive by adding images, videos or using creative ideas that can grab the attention of your audience. Good SEO keywords can enhance the value of your content and has the ability to boost the search engine rankings of your website.

-Check your page titles and description

Have a unique title for your page that can help both the search engines and users to understand what the content is all about. Use proper description and formatting with good headings, sub-headings and right font size to make your text more readable and interesting to your users.

Use good sized images that are optimum and do not take time to load or they can distract the attention of your readers. The use of ALT tag is important to make the search engines know what your image is all about. Descriptive file names make more sense and must be used for better on-page optimization.

-Have a proper URL structure

Ideally, good permanent links must be less than 255 characters and must use hyphen to separate different parts to sound more logical. Make sure to group your pages into categories so that it becomes easy for the search engine and the users to find information quickly.

You can give better structure to your website and make navigation easier by using breadcrumbs for all the pages. A user sitemap included in the main menu comprising of an html file can help visitors know the structure of your website as well.

-Use good internal linking practices

Internal linking is the best way to pinpoint the most important pages of your websites to the search engines. This method also provides information to the search engines about other different pages of your website, which may not have been explored by them.

By providing internal links, you can increase the chances of your users spending more time on your website, while searching for more relevant information.
